• Historic Preservation: Renovating a building with over a century of history required delicate demolition and restoration. Original timber beams, fireplaces, and brickwork were carefully preserved and integrated into the new design, maintaining the building’s character while meeting modern standards.
• Structural Challenges: The addition of a two-story fieldhouse, complete with a gymnasium and event space, demanded intricate structural coordination and seamless integration with the existing footprint.
• Operational Continuity: The Baird remained a vital part of the community during construction. Our team implemented phased work schedules safety protocols to minimize disruption to adjacent recreational programs and public services.
• Accessibility and Compliance: Upgrades included ADA compliant features, new elevators, HVAC systems, and life safety enhancements, all executed within the constraints of a historic structure.
